Empowering the Vulnerable
Blessings was kind of shy and quiet but listened intently to the facilitators. She did answer questions and during the self-defense portion, she really showed some power. She is a small but in-tense girl. During the sharing of the gospel, she decided to listen to the prompting of God and responded to the good news! She is now a new family member in the body of Christ! This is just one program that we are able to do here that gives us a platform to share the good news!
Helping girls understand their value and worth, boundaries, some pretty cool self-defense moves, the truth about sex trafficking, and what healthy and unhealthy relationships look like, who God says we are, and the gospel, is what GEC is all about! We love doing this program and seeing what God does in the midst of it. You can see the light bulb go on in the girl’s heads, and their confidence grow. Most importantly you see God move in the hearts of the girls and some who are saved by God’s amazing grace and then understand who they are in Christ! So important to align the issues of the world around us with the Word of God and a biblical worldview so we can rightly guide the conversations around tough and hard things.
And this could not happen without the ladies that have been trained by the program writers them-selves and who facilitate this program with love, truth, and fun. We are so grateful for these women who facilitate, the girls who show up, and you for giving SO THAT we can put programs on like this.
To be a part of all that is going on here in the community of Chibolya, please pray for us and for the people of Chibolya! That God would continue to show us where He is working and in whose life He is moving in so we can come alongside and help bring long lasting change.
