Welcome to your new community site!
About Site Purpose
Across communities and areas, we sometimes find that a location may need more access to digital marketing than a simple landing page. This site is designed to help you create a space for your audience easily - while staying in-touch with our overall brand (and department processes).
Guidelines:
There are a few guidelines that are designed to serve you best - if you feel something doesn’t apply - just have a conversation with Communications.
1 - Link back to the main One Collective site for Serving Opportunities, Projects, and Giving. This keeps us in compliance with the IRS and gives your serving leads the best “Landing” with our mobilization team. This is probably the most important thing we want to maintain.
2- Keep the global org connected. We’ve created a page that helps speak to the global organization in relation to your specific area or community. This page can be adapted to fit your context - but in general, we’d like the connection between the two to be clear.
3- Consider security and ethics of storytelling. If listing staff, etc - always assume that anything placed online will be seen by all audiences.
Site Setup:
Here is a checklist of things that will need to be completed before your site goes live. More info below.
Change “Location Name” text on all pages to your specific area or community. Review every page)
Write copy for various page sections (across all pages)
Add links to the main One Collective site for general giving, projects, and opportunities.
Unlist any pages without content (if you’re not publishing a blog, etc)
Hookup the contact form to an appropriate email
Replace images with images of your community or relevant content. Use of Unsplash is highly recommended.
Hookup your site to a domain (sub-domain linking is done via communications)
Set your site homepage (from this page to the homepage created)
Consider replacing the subscribe form with one that connects to your own email list. Default links to the main One Collective subscriptions list (which works just fine for all audiences)
Consider adding social sharing images for each page.
Pay for a subscription plan under billing
“Publish” your site!
